Former NBA player Rasual Butler and his wife, singer Leah LaBelle, were killed in a single car accident in Studio City, California, according to multiple news sources. According to TMZ, police officers said Butler lost control of the car around 2 a.m. Wednesday. The Los Angeles County coroner's department confirmed Butler's identity to USA Today. Butler was 38 years old, Leah LaBelle was 31. Butler played in the NBA for 14 years with various teams. He was drafted out of La Salle University by the Miami Heat. He also played with the Hornets, Clippers, Bulls, Raptors, Pacers, Wizards and Spurs. The Indiana Pacers issued the following statement: "Our entire organization is deeply saddened after learning of the death of Rasual Butler and his wife, Leah LaBelle. In his one season with us, Rasual was the consummate team player and a great role model for our younger players on how a professional should prepare and act, while being a positive influence on everyone who associated with him. We offer our sincerest condolences to he and his wife's family." Labelle was a singer who appeared on the third season of “American Idol.” She sang backing vocals for Jordin Sparks and the Jonas Brothers. NBA star Dwayne Wade tweeted, "Come on man. Damn. The world just lost a great dude. RIP Rasual “Bop” Butler!"

Continued prayers for both families. Never knew either of you personally but from all of the stories I have read you were both amazing people. I had just recently started watching you tube videos of Leah when I first heard about this tragedy. You amazed me with your soul and your love for music. I am now and will always be huge fan. RIP both of you.

Even tho most people say R.I.P. think about them in heaven with there maker they will be watching over the people that they love, s there not dead if there close in your heart.

Leah LaBelle it was such a shock when I found out but you will always be loved and remember, your music and beautiful soul will live on forever. Ever since I heard your song in 2012 I fell in love automatically but I send my prayers to both of you guys family and I will always be a fan of you .SIP Angel
