When I first heard about Raul's passing I couldn't believe it. Raul cut my hair at Urban Grooves from the time when I was about 9 years old. I hadn't gone since September 2008 because I was trying to grow my hair out, so I never saw him at Rumors. I was probably his youngest customer but he never treated me like I was inferior in any way. He always called me a "fashionista" and every time I went to get my hair cut he would ask first how school was going, and then if there were any cute guys....

I was just told about the loss of my friend Raul. So positive, big smile, loving life, loving his machines. I let him drive one of my sports cars one day and discovered the man could drive and when he did his smile went clear across his face. We would frequently recall that drive and laugh full belly laughs together. Now that the shock and sadness of the news is settling, I see that I'll remember my friend as a man living life full out with passion and joyous laughter.

I just found out about Raul's passing and am so saddened by his loss. He was my stylist for many years and was truly an angel to me. He helped me through some dark times and his inspirational words of wisdom will be missed. You touched my life so deeply Raul. Until we meet again.

It is hard to believe that such a talented, positive person has left us. He will be greatly missed.
Raul often spoke about his kids and how great they were. I know that he loved them immensely and will be watching over them.
Love and prayers to his family.

I feel touched by everyones memories of my brother. Thank you for your condolences, your kind words, and your beautiful memories. Thank you kind stranger, you met him once and he impacted you, he lived forty years and left a huge imprint on this earth. Ive laughed, cried, and have actually been educated. I never knew he had TAR syndrome. I cried when I saw this picture thank you, I know how Raul must have felt when he met your son. When little children would ask him "why are your arms like...

I met Raul only a month before his accident. He was splitting lanes on Hwy 1, confident, and riding Ducati style. I followed and later stopped and spoke with him at "Rumours." He was awesome and full of positive vibes. I never had the chance to ride Hwy 9 together as planned, but the short time we got to hang out made me realize God took a really cool guy away from me. I do not know if he was married, or had family, however, They have this strangers deepest condelences.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. My family and I have known Raul forever. I was always inspired by his "can do, will do" attitude.
