Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Obituary

Raul “Rudy” Loera, 48, of Midland TX, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born to Trinidad and Rita Loera on September 19, 1977 in El Paso, TX.

He was raised and educated in Midland TX. He worked as a Warehouse Logistics Support Specialist for WellBoss.

Raul was a man of faith who read the bible, had accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was a member of Stonegate Fellowship. He was an amazing chef and introduced his parents to lots of food they would not have chosen on their own. He expressed his love for his family through his cooking. He enjoyed the game of baseball since his little league years and sought out as often as he could baseball games in town or in other states. He was a Cubs fan for most of his life.

As an avid reader, he liked to read books ranging from science fiction, fantasy and thriller novels. Christmas time was his favorite holiday which brought out the inner child in him. He was a blessing to his nieces and nephews and outshined his siblings with his eccentric style of kids’ games and gift giving. His joking and mischievous ways brought laughter and sometimes a little bit of trouble, too.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother Rita Loera, two brothers Jose Luis Loera, Eduardo Loera and nephew David Loera.

Raul leaves behind his father, Trinidad Loera, four sisters Hilda Loera of Lubbock, Rita and Diana Loera of Midland, Alica Loera Popp (Charles) of New Braunfels, 16 nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and nephews and many extended family members.

The family will receive friends and family for a Visitation starting at 5pm Friday, October 24, 2025, at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home & Chapel with a Prayer Service at 7pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 10am Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home & Chapel with a Graveside Committal to immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Anthony Barrera, Julian Garcia, Gabriel Loera, Charles Popp, Nick Ramirez, Francisco Segura, Laura Segura and Mark Valencia will be serving as pallbearers.
