Lewis E. Wint and Son Funeral Home - Clarkston Obituary

KINSER, Raven Jazmine;

“Jazzeygirl”

of Newport News, Virginia, formerly of Lake Orion; passed away on January 24, 2025; age 25.

Loving daughter of Jeff and Jaime Kinser.  Beloved sister of Chase, Madison, and Elisyn. Loved granddaughter of Mort and Jean Kinser and Ray and Lana Schultz.  Adored niece of Greg and Kelly Kinser, Bob and Rae Ann Lhuillier, and Jay and Becky Huffman.  Raven is also survived by many cousins, extended family and friends and her beloved feline babies, Lunatic and Osiris; preceded in death by Salem.

Raven, a graduate of Lake Orion High School class of 2017, was a devoted video game streamer and had recently been promoted to Manager within her company.  Her childhood was spent with cherished moments with family and friends, adventures like camping, jet skiing, and endless days at the lake house, alongside a profound passion for horses and Pokémon.  She also nurtured her musical talent learning the flute, piccolo, cymbals and percussion, achieving 1st place at the World Percussion Championship. Though she embraced her love for black aesthetics while passionately engaging in activities like concert-going.  Her true essence shone through in her unwavering support for friends and those in need. Her supportive nature reflected the rich layers of her goth persona, truly echoing the sentiments of her namesake as she traversed life under the emblematic phrase “Quoth the Raven, Nevermore”.  In a final act of generosity, she chose to be an organ donor, leaving behind a legacy of kindness by granting the precious gift of life to others in her last moments.

Family and friends may visit Friday, February 7th from 5:00pm-8:00 pm at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.

Celebration of Life Service Saturday, February 8th at 10:00 am at the funeral home.

Interment follows at Ottawa Park Cemetery, Clarkston.

Not sure what to say?

I was Raven’s RA during her freshman year of college at UofL. I’m just learning of her passing and it deeply saddens me. Raven was such a sweetheart. Not all residents, especially freshman, are so friendly and easygoing like Raven was. The entire building knew her and loved her. Her and I used to joke around a lot and I remember messaging her on instagram that I missed her “roasting” me. She presented a tough exterior, at least maybe in the way she styled herself, but she was truly a Carebear...

She was one of the sweetest girls I knew. I met her online and streamed with her frequently. When we met I was going through a rough patch with no one, but she was there. She was there for everyone, her heart was filled with so much love. I know she is missed by so many. Those in her community and of course her friends and family. I love you pretty girl

Such a beautiful girl, my memories of holding you as a sweet baby. Your wild crazy hair and so full of joy. You truly brought so much love and happiness to your mom and dad. May you feel all the love of your life celebration and rest in eternal peace

Raven was such a joy to be around at school and she always made a point to connect with the people around her. Sending much love to her family | LOHS ‘17

Such wonderful memories with Raven all throughout high school. She was in the flute section with me and a fellow girl scout in elementary school. What fun we had when she helped me do my makeup for Junior Prom, and gave me good makeup tips that I use to this day. Such a caring person who will be greatly missed by all.

I’m so sad to hear about Raven’s passing. She was a wonderful, kind, caring person. She always brought joy to her classmates and me. I enjoyed having her as a student.

Jeff, I am sorry for the loss of your daughter Raven. My deepest condolences to you and your family. May your loving memories of Raven provide you and your family comfort and help ease your grief.

While I haven't talked to Raven since high school, I remember our time as friends fondly. We went to elementary school and eventually high school together. She was always very passionate for her love of animals and music. From her years in the LOMB marching band, to her multiple seasons of winter percussion. Her love of her craft shined brightly.

She was always smiling even when things weren't going well. She always took the newer members of our ensembles under her wing and was a...
