Not sure what to say?

My father, LCDR Killraine Newton, Jr. and Ray Bunt served on the USS Sailfish SS-192 during WWII. I grew up over the years with memories of raucous visits with the Bunts, and Ray wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Lots of laughter. Ray was a genuine friend, and even though they were thousands of miles apart, Ray told my dad to watch out for me when I went to college, make sure I got into no trouble. Ray carried out his mission and I was honored to know Ray and Ann. Thanks for all you did.

For all the smiles and good wishes from a gentle and gifted man, I say thank you, Mr. Bunt. In my residency at SunnyView, I was able to visit, at length and write a small biography for this WWII hero and business professiona and community leader. His greatest love was for his Ann and his wonderful family.
May our Lord grant them comfort and peace.

We are saddened to hear the Ray has departed on his Eternal Patrol. We are grateful for his service to our country in the US Submarine Service during WWII aboard the USS Sailfish SS-192. To our "Brother of the Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Rest in peace." -- Ray Fritz, National Chaplain United States Submarine Veterans, USSVI.

His time has come to be with his lovely Annie. A good time has always been had in the presents of both. Our memories will forever be with us. Your parents have been in my life probably since I was 12ish; they are within me. We will miss the love and forever laughter he provided. Shay & Floyd
