The couple lived all their married lives in Daviess County and raised their 4 children; Tammy, Tonia Timothy and Titus. His passion for agriculture continued when he took a job working for Mormon Feeds where he was employed for 25 years. He started at an entry level working his way up the ladder becoming a manager. He was always striving to cultivate and serve his customers in the best way possible. Ray was later employed at the Missouri Department of Corrections Center in Cameron working in the Maintenance Department, retiring in 2006. Ray was an inspiring example of dedication and commitment; his skills enabled him to tackle any of his endeavors with ease.

His faith gave him the strength and courage to face both his and Sherry's battle with cancer. He was a longtime member of the Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department and was always ready to go when called upon. He took pride in serving the community. Ray was an avid outdoor enthusiast, who loved to go hunting and fishing with his family and friends, but his true passion was working with his flowers where he spent many hours weeding and caring for them. Ray loved his family especially his children and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone; he made lasting relationships wherever he went. Life was enriched for those who knew and loved Ray, he was a blessing.
