My work at the Vidette during high school (including publishing the school newspaper in the Vidette!) and in my early college years gave me the clips to move up. The work I did for them also gave me practice. It was good that Ray was a gentle editor and teacher. Plus the Vidette sponsored the Ersatz German Band that I played in during the summer.
