Not sure what to say?

My mom, Dorothy Hall, was Ray's first cousin and Ray's parents, Everett and Irene, were our neighbors for many years in Chapel Hill, NC. I treasure all the times we spent with the MacNair family and was so sad to learn of Ray's death. My thoughts to his beloved family. I know he is dearly missed. - Kitty (Davis) Stalberg

Dear Nancy,
I thought that Ray was a wonderfully fully involved person and always wished I knew him better.

Ray's absence will be truly felt in so many facets of this community. His was a life well lived.

Doug,
My deepest regrets and condolences for the loss of your father. It appears he was a great man from all of the "others oriented" work in his life. What a wonderful legacy to leave one's family.

Sincerely,
Joel A. Baker

Just the sweetest, kindest, funniest guy you could ever know. Seeing Ray and speaking with him always made me smile! He will be missed.

Dr. MacNair, you touched the lives of so many in the community. Thanks for the inspiration.

I first met Ray at a fundraiser for the Economic Justice Coalition in 2008. His passion and dedication to social justice was patently apparent; he was so involved in acting on behalf of the undocumented immigrant and the low wage worker. From that first meeting, I also became readily aware of how likeable and engaging Ray was. He would listen, he would share, and he would laugh. No wonder he could inspire so much good.

Such a gentle soul who did such mighty things. Thank you, Dr. MacNair.

I think very fondly of my time in Professor MacNair's Environmental Justice class as I got my MSW at UGA back in 2005/2006. He was a great man and my life is richer for knowing him.
