Jeanne, Leslie and Cindy, I am so sorry to have just heard of Ray's (AKA "Dad") passing and was not able to be with you and give you hugs. Leigh and family,
We just learned of your father's passing, and wish to send our deepest condolences. Our thoughts are with you all during this sad time. May the love and memories of your father be a comfort to you.

This gentleman loved our city so dearly and was indeed a true Salemite. Through his wonderful journalism I have laughed with him and cried with him. In years past, my father, D.E. Thompson, Sr, was one of the early morning coffee drinkers at Orange Market and enjoyed lots of laugh's with him. Our family shares in the sorrow at the loss of this wonderful person.

Leigh and family,
We are so sorry to hear of not only your loss but the loss to many with Mr. Robinson's passing. I remember reading articles that he wrote about his family that took me from laughter to tears and thinking how lucky you all were to have him and what happiness he gathered from having you all in his life. My heart goes out to you during this time.

Dear Jennie and Family,
I am so very sorry for your great loss. I will always remember Ray at the last family reunion you both attended. A group including Norman and Violet, now deceased, sang old songs we all remembered. Ray had such a nice smile, and really enjoyed the event.
My heart goes out to you. May God's comforting word's carry you through the days ahead.

WE WERE DEEPLY GRIEVED TO LEARN OF YOUR RECENT BEREAVEMENT AND WE SEND OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY.

To the Family of Ray Robinson:
I met Ray in my office at VWCC and had no idea who he was or the place of importance he held in the community. He was a totally unassuming, kind gentleman who reminded me of my dad. I didn't know about his background or philanthropy until I read his obituary.
He didn't talk about himself but always made me feel better about myself after visiting with him. What a unique and extraordinary person he was - I'm grateful I had the pleasure of his company...

Leigh--I just learned about your dad and wanted you to know that Larry & I are sad that you and your family lost him. His obituary made it evident what a great person he was and from whom Cindy Lee inherited her "joie de vivre." I know he'll be very much missed. We'll be in touch soon--Love, Teresa & Larry Lee
