Ray A. Rodriguez
October 29, 1972 – August 6, 2023
On August 6, 2023, Ray A. Rodriguez, a beloved soul who touched the lives of man went to be reunited with his mother, Oralia Rodriguez, his twin brother, Rick Rodriguez, and his younger brother, Carlos Rodriguez. Ray was 50 years old, born October 29, 1972, in San Antonio, Texas, and his spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Ray’s journey led him through Central Catholic High School and University of Texas San Antonio, where he satisfied his eagerness to attain knowledge and explore his own personal growth through the years. In his professional life, Ray most recently worked for the Comal County Appraisal District, contributing to the local community and beyond.
However, looking beyond professional endeavors, Ray spent several years teaching, learning, and growing as he cherished his role of a devoted stay-at-home dad to his beloved twins Ellery and Jude Rodriguez. Ray and his family have resided in New Braunfels, TX since 2004, where Ray greatly enjoyed watching his son, Jude, play soccer and daughter, Ellery, compete in gymnastics.
Ray had an adventurous soul, evident in his love for tattoos, his dedication to practicing Tong Soo Do, and his avidity to explore the outdoors alongside his dogs in his Jeep, affectionately named Jenni. Above all else, Ray relished the company of friends and family, finding solace in time spent in good company.
Ray is survived by his loving family: Jan, children Ellery and Jude Rodriguez, father Ricardo Rodriguez, nephews Vincent Rodriguez, Ari Rodriguez, Cruz Rodriguez, Rafe Rodriguez, and sisters-in-law Marissa Rodriguez and Holly Rodriguez.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Ray's memory will take place on August 16, 2023, at 9:30am at St. Paul Catholic Church, located at 350 Sutton Dr., San Antonio, TX 78228. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held at St. Paul's Community Center, 1201 Donaldson Ave., San Antonio, TX 78228, where stories and memories will be shared as a testament to Ray's enduring impact.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Central Catholic High School in memory of Ray A. Rodriguez, class of 1991. Contributions can be sent to Central Catholic High School, cchs-satx.org. or St. Paul’s Catholic School, Stpaulsroyals.org
Ray's radiant spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all those who were fortunate enough to know him, reminding us to embrace life with passion, love deeply, and find joy in every moment.

I first met Ray and Rick in the 6th grade at St. Paul's. Both of them were great guys with awesome senses of humor. We would go on to the same high school (Central Catholic) where we remained friends. I was able to reconnect with both Rick and Ray at an informal St. Paul's reunion years ago, and would remain in touch with them on social media. I will truly miss them both, as they shined brightly with their lovable, larger than life personalities. I will miss Ray's random texts in which...

In the early 90's Ray and Ricky were camp counselors at Vista Camps and they both quickly became standouts in our staff. Each bringing their "uniqueness" and "skills" encouraging the campers and staff to become the best that they can be. Many years later Ray and I touched base again when Ricky passed and then again when I moved back to Texas settling in New Braunfels. We'd run into each other many times in town and visit about old days and life now. I was blessed to work with Ray when we...

I knew Ray from St Paul's, he was in the same grade as my sister, 4 years younger than me. He always had a smile on his face and always went out of his way to tell me hello, I will always remember that. I was sad to hear the news of his passing, may he rest in eternal peace and know he had a special impact on so many people who knew him over the years. Prayers and condolences to his beautiful family.
