Not sure what to say?

Indiana Basketball and students athletes just lost a great man and gentle giant in Ray Sims! I never met a man/coach who truly cared so much and who was so good for his students than Ray.. He wanted to win as much as any coach but more than anything he wanted his students to develop and become productive/successful men.I first met him at Don Hall's guesthouse in The Fort when he was an Asst at Marion. I drove there to see the tourney action and unbeknowst to me this young coach was next door...

I will miss his jokes, sarcasm, and big smile!! I will miss you Ray - your care team! Virginia

Georgia and Jenny, I am extending my sincerest condolences to you and your entire family upon the loss of your brother and uncle. I was proud to see Ray in his coaching position when he brought his team home to play against East Chicago Central and, also, to know that he had established a relationship with my son, Abe Brown, when he was coaching. May the Lord keep each of you in His loving care during this time of bereavement. Know that "Earth has no sorrow Heaven cannot heal."

I met Ray during my freshmen year at Marion College in 1973. His nickname was Cool Ray and he was very cool and such a nice person. We both played basketball that year and he was a very smooth and skilled player. When he started his coaching career I would try to visit one of his games and I know he had a very good coaching career. I am saddened and shocked by his passing. Condolences to his wife and sons.

My sincere condolences to Ray's family. Our coaching careers mirrored each other to an extend, as we both were JV coaches who faced each other, Warsaw vs. Marion, then as varsity coaches both when I was at Manchester and Ray at Wabash, and when I was at Penn & Ray was at Highland. RIP Coach Sims.
