I have only just found out this sad news by visiting this site. My husband used to have drum battles with Raye for fun many years ago. Raye was a lovely man to know. RIP Raye keep on playing those drums up there.

Raye was my first drum teacher at Farney Close. He was like an octupus on the sticks. I recently took up lessons again in the past year, its all coming back to me RIP Teach

Dearest Raye,
You were a family friend for many many years. My mum + dad ( Joyce + Fred) loved you like their own son. When Joyce passed in 2015 you still kept in touch and came to see us. We had many interesting and funny conversations. You were a special man Raye and one we will always remember. I hope you are giving them all a good show up there in heaven with you and your drums. RIP Raye our Dear friend.
