Not sure what to say?

To the entire Arata family, I am sorry to hear of Ray´s passing. Back in the day, when Elaine and Ray were young they were great friends with my parents Bill & MaryPat Murray. We had many fun times with the Aratas and I have fond memories. My sincere condolences.

Judge Arata was an outstanding judge - so wise, so fair, so compassionate. He was a prince of a man. He was revered on the Superior Court by his colleagues, court staff, and counsel. He contributed so much not only to our system of justice but to the larger San Francisco community. He truly modeled the best of our city´s namesake Francis of Assisi. May he rest in peace. In gratitude to this great man, Kathleen Kelly

Ray was special in so many ways! A true friend, true San Franciscan and true Olympian? I will miss you, Ray, and so will many others as well! RIP, dear Ray!

A wonderful San Franciscan who possessed the very best qualities that made this City once great. He will always be remembered as a warm and caring individual. God Bless Him. Tony Hall

It was always an honor for me to know that Sandy, Jim and Ray had a fascinating father. Being a true San Franciscan (4th generation) brings you back to some historical times. What an incredible life the Honorable Judge Arata lived. I thank you for your dedication and commitment to the citizens of San Francisco. I also thank you and your wife for the children that I got to know at different times of my life. I know you are with God now, so I will pray for your family´s strength. Peace be with...

So sorry for your loss!! What a great man, father, friend. Your family is in my prayers

A wonderful man, Sandy/Joey how well you stood by him with all the love you gave him.

It was my privilege and honor to have worked with and been a friend to Ray who, like his father before him was a gentleman of extraordinary talent as a jurist and a man of enormous generosity and principle as a human being, mentor and leader at the Bar. Our most sincere condolences to Elaine and the Arata family

So saddened by this news..
