Not sure what to say?

I still remember two poems Professor Biggar wrote on the board (chalk!) in 1965. I cherish that day and the memory of my first experience as a college freshman with the poem "Bells for John Whiteside's Daughter"- it says a lot about a new teacher in my life.

As a freshman at BC in 1965, I remember Professor Biggar writing 2 poems on the blackboard at our first meeting. "The Bells for John Whiteside's Daughter" and "Death of a Ball-Turret Gunner." In 1969, I was in Vietnam and had the similiar experience as noted in the opening lines of the 2nd poem. I still remember both poems and was very moved by them.

Please accept my condolences. I look upon my time at BC with both you and Raymond with fondness--he had a good heart, and thank you for sharing that.
