Not sure what to say?

Ray is often on my mind and in my prayers as I watch his family hold on to their memories and step forward without his presence. I pray that their pain will continue to ease. I see how special Ray is - by the ripple effects of his life.

So sorry, Looper, to hear about your son. May he rest in peace.

My heartfelt prayers to the loved ones of Sergeant Burnside. When you miss him the most simply look up to the sky at night. He will be the brightest shining star shining down on you.

It's so very difficult to put such a terrible loss into words. We learned so many more amazing things about Ray on Sunday, as we were lucky enough to be there for the Military Graveside Service and Memorial. Thinking of you everyday. We love you so much.

Thank you Burnside family for raising an American hero! So grateful for his service to our country, and so sorry for your loss. May he be resting in eternal peace. Godspeed.

Looper, Culley,Ray,Jaimie and Cameron. I have loved you all since the beginning of our meeting one another. Friends are the family we choose! Love you all and now I have another Angel,Ray. R.I.P. my friend. Love Debbie. If you want to talk I am around, know you know that!

Lynnette, I just learned of Raymond's passing. My heart is breaking for you. I am just so sorry. I have thought of you all so often over the years and regret that we lost touch. May God comfort you & give you peace & strength to get thru this very difficult time. Condolences to the whole family. Love & prayers, Pam Muhly

Raymond Burnside, a grateful and sorrowful farewell from one of millions that you went to hell and back for. Your bravery and courage on your deployments is recognized. Your deep-set pain from war is unimaginable, though I've seen it too often from my dad in WWll, friends in Vietnam, Desert Storm, and now the children of friends and relatives returning from Afghanistan...some not. My heartfelt condolencses to your family, friends and comrades. You will never be forgotten.
