Dear Liz,
It was indeed sad news to learn of Ray's passing. Ray was a wonderful person and a highly respected scientist.
I appointed Ray to be an Associate Editor of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry in the 1970s because of his expertise and reputation. Ray was in part responsible for enhancing its status in the field of drug design, and it is now known to be the world's premier medicinal chemistry journal.
I extend my deepest sympathy to you on your loss of a wonderful...

Dear Liz and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time, but I also want to remember and recognize the amazing influence that Ray and your family have imparted on the lives of so many people. As a post-doc in Ray's lab in the early 1990s, I was blessed to learn from him the right way to do science and will forever cherish the time in spent in Ann Arbor with him. Equally memorable for me was the way you and he made people feel so comfortable when we were together. ...

Dear Liz and family, we send our deepest sympathy and our support as you cope with Ray's passing. I was fortunate to have been one of his doctoral students, providing the basis for what would become a 35 year collaboration in the development of targeted radiopharmaceuticals and CT contrast agents. Ray's synthetic chemistry expertise and his ability to work across disciplines were valuable lessons transferred to all his graduate students, post-docs and lab assistants. As our daughters said...

Dear Liz and family,
I was greatly saddened when I heard the news that Ray had passed away. I was so fortunate to be one of his students and would not be where I am today were it not for his support and encouragement. His enthusiasm for science was contagious, and I grew as a person as well as a scientist as I learned from him as a graduate student. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to know Ray.
You are in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time.

Dear Liz and family, I was crushed to hear of this recent news and wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. I could literally write a book about how fortunate I am as one of those 24 doctoral students who got to learn from Ray in so many ways during the last 35 years that I have known this great man. I have never met a more honest, moral, ethical and caring scientist, leader and family man that Ray and will always use him as the example as I continue teaching graduate and...
