DAMERON, Raymond Edward Sr., 84, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Dameron had worked as a Virginia State Trooper and later retired as a special claims representative from Nationwide Insurance. He was a WWII Army veteran and was a Purple Heart recipient. Survivors include his wife, Karen Brown Dameron; his sons, Ray Dameron and his wife, Elizabeth, and Dr. Stan Dameron and his wife, Adrienne, all of Fredericksburg; his daughter, Pat Holland and her husband, Greg, of Richmond; his stepdaughters, Lisa Weisbeck and her husband, Robert, and Sharlene Capobianco and her husband, Mike, all of Spotsylvania County; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and his brother, John Dameron and his wife, Dorothy, of Spotsylvania. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Dawson Dameron. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, September 10, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, 4801 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Eric F. Goforth officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Oldhams, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, at the funeral home.
