Not sure what to say?

remembering Father Devlin again, knowing he is praying for me

Remembering Father Raymond Devlin SJ for bringing me and my family into the Catholic Church April 1, 1961, and making two life-long Catholics out of my brother and me. For that alone, Ray is in heaven.

We think of you often Fr. Devlin. You are missed. RIP - Anna and Shawn Alfonsi

Fr. Devlin baptized my mother, brother, two sisters, and me, Bob Dunn, SI '70, on Easter Sunday 1961. I was born in 1952, so I was about 8 1/2 years old. He gave us instruction at home, and from the moment he began, I knew I was hearing the truth. He was the first priest I ever knew. He was the first to hear my confession, and it was at home. He was my brother's 1st year religion teach at St. Ignatius, and, according to my brother, Tom Dunn, '64, when Fr. Devlin heard that Tom was not...

Rest in peace Father. You will be in my heart forever.

-the flying dutchman-

Fr. Devlin you will always be my heart and never forgotten. your wit, compassion and love of our LORD is remembered in my heart.
Dear Father, it is you that brings me back to my faith and my church.
May you rest in peace with Jesus and all the saints.

Thank you Fr. Devlin for being a wonderful leader, speaker and Father. My husband and I loved your witty homilies, your speedy confessions, and your gentle giant presence at OLOP. We love you and we know that you are enjoying your eternal reward with our Lord---the very one you helped us know better. You are missed.

Fr. Devlin was a great friend and an inspiration to our family, especially our son whom he taught and coached at St. Joseph's High School. May he rest in peace.

Fr. Devlin's obit mentions his teaching Religion (among other subjects) at St. Ignatius High School back in the early 60s. But in those days, Religion was taught three days a week and Pubic Speaking the other two days to the same class. So I had Fr. Ray for Public Speaking as well during my sophomore year at S.I. Lots of fond memories of those days with his unique style of teaching both courses.
