Not sure what to say?

I knew Jan Whitman, Michael Hsu, Kenny Grant and a few others that worked with and for Ray. It seems such a long time ago. Work times though.

I remember Uncle Ray coming to visit us in Potomac, MD over the Christmas holidays. It was always such a big deal to have him join our family. My mom would make mincemeat pie especially for him, although none of us liked it. Maybe my dad had some - I don't remember. Ray was funny and enjoyed the his quiet time while we went to church. He'd prefer to stay home and read the paper - a typical Dirks. I'm sure he was doing the crossword puzzle on Sundays. This is a tradition my brother, Steve got...

Suzane and Lee Sad for your loss! Ray was such a wonderful and considerate guy. Jesse and he were quite a team! Ray raised money for me several time ... always came in as promised. He worked with our good mutual friend Marty Wilens . May he and Jesse rest in peace Tom and Shirley Besemer Itin

Ray was very generous and always had an open door policy. Visitors were especially welcome during football season. He could get very happy if one of them arrived with Brazilian corn-flavored ice cream (way better than it sounds) from around the corner. A living link to history, Ray once shook the hand of someone who did the same with Abraham Lincoln. He lent me a book...he wrote. It was a real page turner. He was laid-back and folksy with a serious intellect. Jessy was very nice and an...

Ray Dirks was a Force of Nature. He was a genius Wall Street Damon Runyon character. Brilliant and there will be another like him. I sold him 2 brokerage firms and we did several deals together. He was a pleasure to work with and learn from . Prayer said to you Ray!!!

My father surely is missed. I had a lot of fun bringing him ice cream and crossword puzzle books over the years. Nothing lit up his face more than ice cream (and seeing me!!!) My mother, Jessy Wolfe Dirks, passed away in 2015. I can´t believe they´re both gone. I was so glad to share my engagement with my father this past summer; it meant a lot to me that he knew my fiancé! Anyone who knew him please feel free to share a memory on here

My deepest condolences to his family. Although I didn´t know him, from what my old friend Debbie, his niece, tells me, he was a special, amazing man. May memories of joyful times with him help you. And May he rest in peace. Judy Pokras in Boynton Beach

My condolences to the family of a truly unique and iconoclastic Wall Street figure who made history twice: publicizing the Equity Funding fraud and winning in a landmark decision of the Court that clarified the law of insider trading. So sorry to learn, also, of Mrs. Dirks passing years ago.

Lucky to experience the roller-coaster of being Ray's assistant for awhile. When he joined Muir suddenly on a hot August 1976 weekend -no one else available so they hired me a relative novice. He was the best boss ever! Loved that guy! Sorry I hadn't seen him in years, was always wondering what his next big thing would be.
