Not sure what to say?

Raymond was a great friend. He was like a father to me. Such a talented person. He help a lot of young people. I will always remember the good you did for me and Chris. We love you deeply. I'm glad i got to know you

Dr. Dobard, you were such a beautiful human. Thank you for always having the right words at the right time. Rest well.

He shared with me the incredible history of Treme. Though him images and objects made by people of African descent came alive in new and profound ways. I miss him.

Dr.Dobard, I can say a lot but that I'm thankful our paths crossed, is at the top of the list. You took the time to help me navigate college life at Howard University. I'll never forget you sir. Rest well sir

You were my office mate At Howard University. There we spoke of our students, their trials, tribulations, and their accomplishments . We laughed, and were astounded by the talent that whirled through the halls. You taught me about the incredible cultures of New Orleans, and her strong connection to Africa. You did love your students. You are very much missed. RIP

Dr. Dobard (affectionally called Doby) was one of my favourite professors at Howard U. You actually looked forward to his class. Outside of class he was always warm and welcoming, just a wonderful human being. Rest Well Sir.

Dr. Dobard,
How can I thank you for salve to my heart that your words provided. As a young student, at Howard Fine Arts, you took time to guide and encourage me even though I wasn't taking your course. I went to class with other professors but your office was a universe unto itself, a place i felt welcomed and left with spirit renewed and emboldened by the confidence you helped to instill. Forever grateful.
Rest well Sir, Honored Ancestor.

Dr. Dobard was one of my favorite professors at Howard. Loved the many conversations we had in his office- his door was always open. We will miss you "Doc". Rest in Peace.

I met Raymond when I lived in D.C. during the early 1970's. He and I became friends and remained in contact until I returned home to Sanford, FL.(1979) He was a brilliant scholar, had a loving spirit, was kindhearted, and most of all loved his profession. He was on my mind today, so I Googled his name and saw his obituary. Rest in peace my dear. Marylen Mobley (Whyte) Temple
