I remember him as a kid growing up in Bismarck. Me and my sister would stop by and say hi to him. He always gave us records. He was a great caring man.

Listened to Ray and Sunday at the Memories when I worked abroad for four years. Company broadcast his shows on private radio station. I was lucky enough to have recorded many of his shows and have his voice as he introduced his songs.

Ray Durkee was a special person. He was very special and enjoyed listening to his show in Denver, and also enjoyed working with him at our special events. It's a sad day to learn of his passing.

We recently came across the Guest Book for Raymond Durkee which told us of the loss of a man who has been the most prominent person in my musical education. I listened to hundreds of hours of "Sunday at the Memories" in the early 1980's on Friday afternoons on the radio station of the Arabian American Oil Company (Aramco) when I worked in Saudi Arabia. Since the weekend in Saudi Arbia is Thursday and Friday, "Sunday at the Memories" was always on Friday afternoons.

I was saddened today to hear about the death of Ray Durkee last June. He was one of my favorite radio personalities and also one of my biggest influences in radio broadcasting.
I worked at a little radio station in Carson City, NV (KPTL) when he twice brought his "Sunday at the Memories" road show to town. Each time he came to Carson City, he made plenty of friends at his sold out dances.
Somewhere in my attic, I have an interview I did with him about 20 years ago....
