Not sure what to say?

I just found his obituary. This is very sad. As everyone has said, he was an incredible teacher and awesome man. I graduated in 1990 and was in his class for 12th grade English. I came back to see him a couple times when I was on break from college. I will never forget starting the Friday "Stomp" in his class. Every Friday, close to the end of the class, we would all at one time stomp as hard as we could on the floor. Our class was on the second level of the school so the whole building...

Goss Family,
I extend my deepest sympathies to you during this time of loss. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful man with Manchester. I feel very blessed to have been one of Mr. Goss' students. He taught me, not only how to love literature, but about myself. In fact, I often think of his passion for literature, writing, and education and try to channel that into my own teaching. He left his mark on many.

With Kindest Regards,
Terry Pack Edwards

Dear Mrs. Goss,

I am sorry to hear of Mr. Goss's passing. His humor and good nature were always a wonderful part of my time spent at your house during nursery school. My thought and prayers are with you at this time.

Goss family, my heartfelt condolences go out to you during this time. Mr. Goss was truly a unique, life-loving and life-changing man! As a former MHS student of his (96) I can tell you it was a joy getting to know him and a privelege to get to see the world in the way he presented it to us. May God's strength and peace be with you always!

The world has lost a truly great man and educator but it is a much better place because he was here. Mr. Goss was one of my favorite teachers because he made learning a joy and not a chore. His classroom was alwayd filled with laughter and I will always remember fondly how his whole head would turn red when he found something especially funny. I am a better person for having had Ray Goss as a teacher and I know that I am not alone is saying that. My sincere condolences to his family. I just...

My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. Mr. Goss was my English teacher my Junior and Senior year (85-86). He is the shining example of what a teacher should be. He was a joy and had a great impact on me.

I had Mr. Goss my senior year 1996 at MHS. He is one of the first teachers to expand my mind as far as literature went. He really opened my eyes up to the world I was going to be headed into. Goss, was also one of the first teacher's to nurture my writing. I owe so much to Mr. Goss. All that he taught me and gave me will never be forgotten.

What an incredible legacy that he has left. He certainly helped me through at Manchester - he took the time to show he cared and really listen and work with us. I know this must be a difficult time, but he lives through so many of us that had him as a teacher. May God bless you and keep you close during this time.

Ray Goss was a great friend and inspiration to me during my fifteen years at Manchester High School. He was well read, witty, compassionate, thoughtful, and a true 'presence'. I am saddened by his passing, but once again inspired by his wonderful legacy. We always ate lunch togehter with the 'Boys' Club'- when we discussed and solved the problems of the world! I know he was truly loved and remembered by his students as he was a remarkable man and a brilliant teacher. In turn, I feel...
