Your Mass of the Resurrection today at Church of the Ascension was a celebration of your life. We were privileged to know you and your family, starting back in the early seventies when we first met you and Anne and your children. I will always have e fond memories of your daughter Dorothy babysitting for my infant daughter Kimberly.
You have inspired and helped so many people along the way. I know that your family is proud of you.
We will miss your smile and your contagious...

So many great memories of Mr. Grinnell and the entire Grinnell family from the days my family lived across the street from the Grinnell's in the Ridglea area of Va. Beach during my elementary and middle school years. Though I haven't seen many of you in years, you have and always will hold a special place in my heart.

I cried tears of joy two years ago when I saw Mr. Grinnell at a Mass at Ascension for the first time since I moved away in high school. I hugged him so tight...

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mary and to Ray's family members. You have lost a genuinely good husband, father, and grandfather. All who knew him will miss his happy smile and that mischievous twinkle in his eye. May he rest in peace.

This world will miss you greatly Ray. Prayers for your journey.

Ray, You will be sorely missed.... The one who helped me Lector at Ascension and ever so much more. I will always remember how you touched me when you did not want to do the Prayers when Claire was ill and mentioned because it would make you cry. It made this bitter and heart-closed divorced girl believe that love could be real and last and be trusted. God Bless and thank you to the family for sharing this wonderful man with us!

Farewell my friend and shipmate. Friends for over 50 years both in the Navy and since retirement, your ready smile and intelligent wit will be sorely missed. We are devastated.

Ray, We love you and will miss you so very much at our family gatherings. Won't be the same without you. Give Leesa a big hug when you see her in Heaven.

We will miss you Ray. You were the first from Ascension to welcome us. You always encouraged us at the Rec Center. We will miss your great smile and positive attitude. God bless you always.
