CLINTON
Raymond J. Hatt, 81, died Thursday, April 29, 2021, in UMass Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after a brief illness.
He leaves a sister, Margaret J. Prachnick, of Berlin. Two sisters, Mary Kent and Marsha Gour, predeceased him.
Ray was born in Worcester and raised in Berlin, son of Harvey and Beatrice (Hanney) Hatt. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Fitchburg, and a US Marine Corps Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, Ray attended Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester.
For many years, he worked as a Delivery Driver for Germain’s Market of Marlborough and Berlin.
A devout Catholic, he was raised as a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, Berlin, and, in adulthood, settled in Clinton, where he was a member of the former Our Lady of Jasna Gora Church, and, from its closing until the time of his death, a member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish at St. John the Evangelist Church, Clinton.
Burial with military honors in the family plot in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster, will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. John’s Church, 149 Chestnut St., Clinton, MA 01510.
