Ray became inactive in our Edmonton (Host) Lions Club shortly after I joined; however I recall the warmth of his welcome when I was inducted, despite his reluctance to leave the club in feminine hands. I know that he was president in the 1988-89 Lionistic year and was the first member to receive a Melvin Jones Fellowship in 1986. He was involved with the building of the Edmonton Lions Senior Citizens Recreation Centre. I both liked and respected him. A true Lion and gentleman.
