Ray was one of my "idols" while attending FHS.. he was 2 years ahead of me in school.. and we both were into the music program.. me in the band and chorus and Ray in Chorus and Barber Shop Quartet.. Ray was also a fine basketball player.. and he had a unique way of shooting foul shots.. rathar than look straight at the basket he took a step left and aligned his right arm with the basket.. thus having a straight line from his shooting arm to the rim.. I copied that technique.. and it was a...

I was stunned when I read of Ray's passing. I have known Ray since first grade.I spent most of today remembering our good times as kids and classmates.Although we did not see much of each other after graduation I thought of him often.Please accept ny most sincere condolences.

Dear Herb family, as aunt to Debbie and Paul Herb, I wish to extend our family's sincerest sympathy to you all. We did not know Raymond, but Debbie and Paul speak very highly of him, so we know he was a fine man who loved his family. I knew Raymond from the time we were young lads. I considered him my best friend for many years. I spent many hours at his house and have so many good memories. I admired him in so many ways. He taught me so many things, except he never got me to sing a note in tune and oh how he tried! We entered the Navy together and after training at Great Lakes we saw each other aboard ship in Newport, RI. I only saw him a few times since then but they are cherished memories.
