I had the honor to instruct with Ray for a number of years all over the country. His experience and sense of humor were a great part in the success of ATF's programs for decades. Thanks you for sharing him with countless law enforcement personnel.

Thanks to those that remembered my Dad with their kind words. I read them to my Mom and she appreciates them as well. May he rest in peace. Dave Laporte.

I met Ray on the UN 25 detail in New York (1970). Great guy and spoke real good French. Understood he was raised by his grandparents in Canada. Our detail was responsible for the President of Dahomi, Africa who only spoke French. My job, being a former cop, was to drive the follow-up (crash) car in the motorcade. Really hate to hear about Ray's passing.

I was on several special details with Ray and he was one of my instructors at the academy in Wash. D.C. He was one of the most caring, gregarious, and jovial Special Agents I know. I last broke bread with Ray at John Grady's trailer on the beech in RI a few years ago. Ray always tried to cheer up the troops and had a winning personality. You now have a very special agent and guardian angel looking over you. May you have peace and comfort with your many fond memories of Ray. God bless you.

My most sincere condolences to the Laporte family. Ray was a good guy and well respected ATF agent. He could always make the group laugh. He was a mentor to younger agents and helped rookie agents develop into seasoned investigators. He will be missed by his friends in ATF. May God bless him and especially the entire Laporte family.
