I was your student, Mr Lawrence. In the mid 1960s. You taught me to drive a gutless `55 Chevy with a clutch. I wrote a story about you. I wish I could send it to your family. I will never forget you. Thank you.

He was a unique, lovable person and is missed.

Has it been six years already? Good grief. Did I need another reminder of how time flies?

I have an intense dislike of automated messages. But this one caught me in a soft spot, so I'll give it a moment of grateful reflection.

My condolences to the Lawrence family. Ray and Phyllis were very kind to me when I met them as a total stranger and Vietnam vet in the early 1970s. I will always be grateful to them and remember them in prayers.
