Obituary

Raymond G. Lockhart, age 68, passed away Monday January 28, 2008 at the Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia. Mr. Lockhart was born December 14, 1939 in Davenport, Virginia and was the son of Dorotha Lockhart of Vansant, Virginia and the late Ira Lockhart. He is also preceded in death by his step son, Michael Frantum, one sister, Betty Ruth Lockhart and one brother, Okie Lockhart. Raymond was a coal miner in southwest Virginia and then enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged after tow years. He worked for the Fruit Growers Express Railroad in Alexandria for over 18 years and Northern Virginia Park Authority at Pohick Park until his retirement. Raymond is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty Lockhart of Lorton: Two sister, Snoda Compton of Fairborne, Ohio, and Adeline Duty of Vansant, Virginia, six brothers, Cannie Lockhart of Woodbridge, Virginia Mason Lockhart and his wife Linda of Readville, Virginia, Brady Lockhart of Fairborne, Ohio, Howell, Palmer and Randall Lockhart and his wife Joyce, all of Vansant, Virginia. He is also survived by two step grandchildren, Patrick and Timothy Frantum, both of Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-9 PM Thursday January 31, 2008 at the Mountcastle Funeral Home in Woodbridge. Pastor Dave Gibson Will conduct funeral services at: 11:00AM Friday February 1, 2008 at the Mountcastle Funeral Home in Woodbridge. The burial will follow at the Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.
