Not sure what to say?

Raymond was an inspiration. His willingness to share the story of his struggle, simply as a matter of fact, never looking for sympathy, showed him to be a true spiritual warrior. His willingness to laugh at himself and the vagaries of the world would show anyone that "lightening up" might be the first step to coming to grips with whatever beset them.
I think of his wide-eyed wonder and joy in conversation, whether it was about his garden or just in relating a funny story, and I smile....

Raymond was a creative and talented hairstylist, and friend. We had some memorable conversations and he had a way of inspiring me to appreciate myself. I will miss him and his dry sense of humor.

Raymond was a dear friend of my family. He was always a bright addition to any gathering. And, he was a fantastic hair stylist.

I always looked forward to quiet conversations with Raymond about movies, food, gardening or family amid the noise of the salon. I will treasure the irises he gave me one year to plant in my own garden.

His last day of work was my daughter's wedding day, and he did our hair--beautifully and thoughtfully, as always.

Raymond was a kind, funny, gentle man, who I considered a good friend, and I will miss him so much.

In the summer of "88 when I was newly sober and struggling to turn my life around, Raymond, every Saturday night would hop in the car and drive me to a meeting in Woodstock...cruising down the New York State Thruway listening to "Simply Red", Drinking Coffee and laughing. So much laughing.
Right now I am laughing and crying at the same time.
A more gentle man Ive never known.
Bon Voyage Mon Ami!

I am sorry for your loss. I remember him best when he worked out of Center Stage on McClellan Street. I used to come in with my Uncle John, sweep up for everyone, wash down counters and such. Get everyone breakfast and lunch. I really enjoyed doing for everyone. He was such a nice person! God Bless!

Although I only knew Rymond for a short period he was a wonderful free spirted man. I looked forward to he days I knew he'd be at work.I loved listening to him talk about his "good ole days" and his telling me all his cooking secrets. I know that I will miss him very deeply. My deepest sympathies to his family and close friends.

Dear George and Michael, So sorry to hear about Raymond. I can still remember the time he colored my hair in your mom's kitchen years ago when I was visiting your family. It has been over forty years since I have talked to any of you. This was a horrible thing that happened to Ray he was loved by everyone. I saw him at the beauty salon just a few months ago. Please know that you are all in my prayers. Mary (Sacco) Palmer
