Not sure what to say?

Well, sadly it's been a year since he passed but Ray is most certainly not forgotten. I now have been able to keep in touch with Camille and I know we both miss him but I always smile with warmth when I think of him. He was a true friend and a truly great and wonderful man.

I was asked to add a memory about Ray here as Christmas 2024 approaches and I have so many. We worked as a team on many WOWT-TV projects and were on the road a lot. One time we were headed to Lincoln, NE., for a story and it was already afternoon and traffic was heavy leaving Omaha. Ray was exhausted and Ray put his head on the passenger side window and fell asleep. Soon a semi pulled up on my right and I was in the middle lane of a 3-lane road. The truck then slowly started coming into our...

Condolences to the family!

i recently spoke to Ray after Mike Jones funeral; several years ago. I told Ray of the story that i remember vividly of my being called into the office, in high school and asked if i would share my locker with Ray Metoyer. No big thing until Rays elbows occassionally hit me in the head. Now remember Ray was 6'5'' and i was 5'7". It was bound to happen. We were more than locker mates. We shared stories of prejudice an racism based on color and handicaps. Ray was quite intelligent and he...

I was a class ahead of Ray at Prep and had the pleasure of working with him for many years at WOWT-TV. But most of all Ray and I were friends and that was truly an honor. You couldn't help but love this man and admire how he handled both adversity and success. He constantly talked of his family, keeping me up-to-date about his children, his brothers and sisters and all of the various Metoyer happenings. The world is certainly a better place for Ray being part of it for 72 years. I'm really...

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I remember the family BBQ restaurant place and I had his wife, Dee, be the interior decorator in my first home in Omaha.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

I am a high school classmate of Ray's. I feel so fortunate that he came to our 50th class reunion and we had a chance to reconnect. He was so successful in his career and in life. I am so sorry to learn of Ray's passing and that he had to struggle with cancer for some time. I pray that in your grief, you also find time to recall the many good times your family enjoyed together with Ray. -Ken Berger
