Raymond Moses, Sr. passed away in Houston, Texas on November 4, 2021. He was born in Quemado, Texas on January 23, 1937 to Hamid and Lilia (DeLeon) Moses.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Glenda Moses; sister Satute Dickerson, sister Betty Cerda, brother Kamel Moses, and brother Abdalla Moses.
Raymond is survived by his loving companion, Rose Mary Fisher; children Raymond Moses, Jr. and wife Maria D. Moses, Amado Henry Moses and wife Maria I. Moses, Adriana Nuncio and husband Abel Nuncio, Anna Belia Heuermann and husband Tommy R. Heuermann, Robert Collins and wife Denise, and Kenneth Collins; grandchildren Simmie, Daniel , Elizabeth, Edgar, Irene, Juan Carlos, Alejandro, Alisha, Allison, Matthew, Christopher, Juliana, Bubba, and Rebecca; great-grandchildren Nolan, Nicholas, Logan, Eneri, Jose, Amaris, Claire, Callie, and Cole; great-great-grandchildren Felix, Jerelin, Juan Pablo, Brandon, Alliana, Aaliyah, Analy, Jolisa, and Jose Manuel; sister Elsie Epting and husband Richard, brother Hassen Moses and wife Alicia, brother Alex Moses and wife Wanda, and sister Mariam Moses. Numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
Raymond, a Christian who loved the Lord, attended Lovelady Assembly of God, Fellowship Church and was a current member at Reminant Faith Church. He regularly volunteered with a group of musicians playing music for the residents of Avalon Place Nursing every Friday. He was frequently invited to perform, playing his accordion with their group at numerous local churches. He volunteered in Prison Ministry giving his testimony and playing music. It was also his great pleasure along with Rose Mary Fisher to host ice cream socials to celebrate resident’s birthdays at Avalon Place. In his younger years Raymond loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and planting a garden each year. He enjoyed cooking, especially barbequing, winning several cook-offs for his brisket. He was an avid baseball fan, always rooting for the Astros. He also spent many years coaching little league baseball in the Aldine School District. He will be dearly missed by those that he leaves behind to cherish his memory.
