Raymond, a Christian who loved the Lord, attended Lovelady Assembly of God, Fellowship Church and was a current member at Reminant Faith Church.  He regularly volunteered with a group of musicians playing music for the residents of Avalon Place Nursing every Friday. He was frequently invited to perform, playing his accordion with their group at numerous local churches. He volunteered in Prison Ministry giving his testimony and playing music.  It was also his great pleasure along with Rose Mary Fisher to host ice cream socials to celebrate resident’s birthdays at Avalon Place.  In his younger years Raymond loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and planting a garden each year.  He enjoyed cooking, especially barbequing, winning several cook-offs for his brisket.  He was an avid baseball fan, always rooting for the Astros.  He also spent many years coaching little league baseball in the Aldine School District.  He will be dearly missed by those that he leaves behind to cherish his memory.

Not sure what to say?

I remember him. He used to play the accordion at Avalon Place for the residents. My mother was there. He was always such a kind man. (Reminded me of my Papí.) So very sorry to see he has passed away. I expect to see him again, soon and very soon.

Love you forever Uncle Raymond REST IN PEACE

My condolences to all who loved Raymond. I met him years ago at Avalon Nursing home, and so admired his obvious love for the Lord, and his family and friends. He was always kind. Loved playing music with him. Prayers for peace and comfort for all who loved him. Mary Keith

Granpa,
I will never forget how you never met a stranger who didn’t later become a friend. I will never forget the time we spent hunting and fishing together. You always managed to teach me something, even if I didn’t realize it at the time. Thanks for the lessons you gave during that time. They will be ones that live on. Love you.
