Raymond F. Musial, 85, of Manchester, NH, died April 7, 2022, after a period of declining health.


Born in Manchester, NH on June 3, 1936, he was the son of Francis and Gertrude (Dow) Musial. He was a lifelong resident of the Queen City.


Raymond proudly served with the United States Air Force. He held the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.


Until his retirement, Raymond was employed as a flight engineer with the New Hampshire Air National Guard.


Raymond graduated from Bishop Bradley High School, Class of 1954. A talented athlete, he excelled in basketball and baseball. In 1954, he helped lead the baseball team to the state championship. He also played for the New England All-Star Team at Fenway Park.


An avid golfer, Raymond was a member of Candia Woods Golf Links.  He enjoyed spending time in his garden.  He dedicated his time coaching South Jr. Deb Softball. Raymond will be remembered for his quiet, kind, and gentleman like ways.  Those who knew him will never forget his headstrong personality and opinions, especially when debating politics. 


His family was the center of his life.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He was fond of his dog and companion, Cajen.  He was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, as he left an indelible mark on every single life that he touched.  He will be deeply missed.


He was married to his beloved wife of forty-two years, Sandra L. (Campellone) Musial. She died December 10, 2006.


Family members include two daughters, Christina Munroe of NY and Melissa Taylor and her husband, Keith, of Manchester; five grandsons, Cody, Jake, Alex, Evan, and Noah; and his great-granddaughter, Cora.


Services: Calling hours are Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 4 to 6 PM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH.


A funeral service with military honors will follow in the funeral home at 6 PM.


Private burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester, NH.


Memorial donations may be made to Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Rd, Manchester, NH 03102.

Ray was another one of the great guys that served in the New Hampshire Air National Guard. He was a real Pro in the air and a real gentleman on the ground I flew with him on a few Public Affairs missions when he was the flight engineer

Ray was a real pleasure to work with and a mentor to me. Sad to read of another of the good guys passing.
