Raymond Page

My wife Sian and I are sad to hear of the passing of Ray and his wife Joan. We have only just learnt of this. Ray and Joan were very kind to our family when they let us stay in their house in State College in the summer of 1987. We were visiting from England and made to feel very welcome by this lovely couple. I was lucky enough to be able to go to an Allard Quartet concert and to hear Ray play. Richard and Sian Mollart

Raymond was a pupil of Ruth Dabney Allen (née Smith) back in the 40's. I began studying with her in 1946 and was told all about Raymond as he was her best student to date. Many years later and just a few years ago, Mrs. Allen celebrated her 100th birthday and Raymond was able to join in the celebration, even performing several times.
Subsequently, I had the pleasure of exchanging Christmas cards with Raymond and his wife Joan.

I remember Mom's (sister Ellen) stories about her "little brother" especially sharing their beloved music. Perhaps they are playing music together today for the ultimate choir.
What a wonderful long life...He will be missed.

All my thoughts and love, and my family's as well go out Kenny, Annie and the rest of the Page family. We lost my father to the same and truly understand how you feel. I wish you peace .

Ingrid and I enjoyed many wonderful hours playing chamber music with Ray. He and I played many concerts together with the Space Coast Pops, etc. We dearly miss Ray and Joanie. They are the ones who introduced us to the Outdoor Resorts of Melbourne where we enjoyed each others company for many years.

Ray taught our two sons, Marc and Jeff, when they were young, influencing their lives in many ways. Their memories and mine are of gratitude, for the beautiful, kind man that he was and for all that he taught them about music and violin. Our memory of him is cherished.

Ray never lost his boyish enthusiasm for music! If anything, he loved it more and more. What an inspiration he was to so many people! God bless you, Ray Page.

Playing with Ray provided some of the most rewarding musical experiences I have had. I am grateful to have had the honor.
