Not sure what to say?

My father (Harry Burdick) better known at Wayland as Happy and my uncle (Bill Moore) were great friends. My parents would never have met if it wasn't for Ray. My Aunt Mary Sargent and my Uncle Sargie went to Houston when Tyree married one of your sons. I was really floored when I read that Ray had passed away our thoughts and prayers go out to your family during your time of this lost. Ray was a great person on and off the court.

from a distant nephew

I was a distant relative (his mother was my grandmothers sister) and enjoyed hearing the many stories of his accomplishments from his mother and other family members. I did meet with Ray Jr III while working briefly in Houston in the '90's but did not get to meet him at that time.
A great loss to his family, community and the sport.

I was an usher in the 1970"s for the Rockets. Every night Mr. Patterson would say hello and good night. Even if they lost, he was a wonderful man.
