Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

Raymond Dale Perry, 74, of Iowa Park was welcomed to his heavenly home surrounded by loved ones Friday, July 7, 2023.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park with Rev. Tim Franks officiating.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Dale was born on September 26, 1948 in Odessa, Texas to the late Roy and Janet (Green) Perry.      As a child, Dale was active in the Boy Scouts of America.  He was a 1967 graduate of W. F. George High School in Iowa Park, and attended Computer Tech school in Dallas.  He was retired from Region 9 Education Service Center after thirty years as a computer technician in grade reporting, and finance.  Dale married the love of his life, Linda Darlene Spain Perry on October the 30, 1986 and they shared 37 years of Love and happiness.  Their love for each other grew stronger each year.    Dale enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, where his position was pitcher.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons.  He was a big supporter of his children, coaching them in little league baseball and softball.  In later years, he enjoyed making models of all types with a connection to each individual recipient.

Dale accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, Sept 1985.  He was a long-time member of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park.  Dale loved his church family, where he became very close with his brothers and sisters in Christ.  He attended numerous bible studies over the years.  Most recently outside of church, he attended bible study led by classmate and friend John Trahan.  Dale was a Godly husband, father, and friend. During his illness that began in January, Dale had many Christian brothers that would gather around him and pray for him during this illness, He named them the “Magnificent 7” prayer warriors.

Most of all, Dale’s true passion in life was being with family.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Justin Beavers.

Dale is survived by his wife Linda Spain Perry; sons Raymond (Janna), Clint (Sherri); daughters Dawn (Justin), and Misty (Champ); grandchildren Collin (Ashley), Austin, Madelyn, Dawson, Ethan, Brody, Olivia, Tripp, and Wyatt; great-grandchildren Chloe, Hannah, Haylee, Noah, and Mackenzie; sisters Darlene Gardner and Linda Richardson (Kent); along with many cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff of Hospice of Wichita Falls for their compassionate, and loving care of Dale during this difficult time.
