I was truly saddened on hearing of the passing of Ray. As a young man I had the pleasure of having Ray as a teacher, a football coach at Nova High School 73' and JV baseball coach at SHS 74'. I also enjoyed the summer school trips (Field Biology) to Patrick's Point State Park on the coast and (Mt. Ecology) to the Marble Mt. Wilderness Area and the Warner Mt. Wilderness area with Ray and Doug Gordon. I will always cherish those great memories that I experienced with Ray. Thank you Ray for...

Ray was a friend of my brother's and came over to our house sometimes. While there, he would spend some time with me and I appreciated it; I was seven years younger. We would go coyote hunting together with my brother, Mike. I don't remember getting any coyotes, but I do remember getting up early and heading out to Clear Creek. He had this cranky .257 Robert's rifle that had no safety on it, at least one that worked! He was always willing to spend some time with me and made me feel included...
