Remembering Ray and was so moved at his life's Celebration. Love and support to my dear friend Leslie Williams Schwerdt and her family.

I was truly saddened on hearing of the passing of Ray. As a young man I had the pleasure of having Ray as a teacher, a football coach at Nova High School 73' and JV baseball coach at SHS 74'. I also enjoyed the summer school trips (Field Biology) to Patrick's Point State Park on the coast and (Mt. Ecology) to the Marble Mt. Wilderness Area and the Warner Mt. Wilderness area with Ray and Doug Gordon. I will always cherish those great memories that I experienced with Ray. Thank you Ray for...

We pray for the family's comfort in this tragic loss. Ray was a great man and a good friend. He was a lover of the family and a devoted brother. His legacy as a father, husband, brother, teacher and friend will live far beyond his death.

I'm so saddened to hear of Ray's passing. May your memories together help to comfort you. Much love, Sheri Eby

To the whole family; my thoughts, my prayers and my memories are with you all. I can say that when I think of Ray I can only think of love and laughter. Oh what a chuckle he had. My condolences to all of you in the loss of such a great man, but a blessing to all of us who knew him and will carry him with us always. Much love and respect to all.

Mr. Schwerdt was simply an awesome guy. Young and possessing much gusto on the field; I had the pleasure of being coached by him on the SHS JV baseball team in 69'.Truly a great man who motivated w/ a genuine interest in his players and a love for his profession. RIP Coach.

We would go coyote hunting together with my brother, Mike. I don't remember getting any coyotes, but I do remember getting up early and heading out to Clear Creek. He had this cranky .257 Robert's rifle that had no safety on it, at least one that worked! He was always willing to spend some time with me and made me feel included...
