Ray was a valuable member of Valencia's professional staff and a friend whom I enjoyed chatting with over coffee. I remember with fondness the evening when Valencia students and staff gathered at 3 AM on his landing strip south of Kissimmee to view Haley's Comet through the telescopes set up there. This was just one of the many ways he served the college community.
