Ray was like a time capsule.  You always knew when he was visiting because outside the house would be this unblemished, well maintained, grayish blue, 1957 station waggon. His appearance was full of clean lines, in common with the era of his ride: a square, short military style haircut, thick, black rimmed glasses, suspenders, and pressed short sleeve shirt and pressed pants.

Ray was a very kind and gentle soul with a heart of gold.He was my great uncle and a great friend. He was someone you could confide in and talk to for hours on end and never would judge you.
