Not sure what to say?

Dr. Smolover was my wonderful vocal coach for only one year before I got engaged and moved out of state. That was 1989 and I still think about him, his kindness and very unique coaching and techniques. I learned so much from him and wish I could get a hold of his material and writings. They were very inspiring and helpful! Always miss him. Thank you Dr Smolover with much love and gratitude.

Always in my thoughts

Raymond was my voice teacher for many years. He asked me to perform "The Age of Spring", a song he composed and was chosen to celebrate Youth Day throughout the country in the '70s. He put together a studio band and we recorded the song at the legendary Electric Ladyland Studio (named for Jimmy Hendrix) in NYC. Cantor Smolover was my voice teacher in the late 60s/early 70s and I sang in his Friday night folk rock services. I used to babysit Debbie; many, many years ago.
He was a wonderful man. My thoughts go to his family.

I remember Cantor Smolover.from my Hebrew school days in the.late 1970's. His booming operatic voice.as.well.as.his warm.and.kind.demeanor.still.stand out in.my.mind. He also.extended his kindness.to my now.deceased mother,.who was.experiencing.some financial difficulties and was thinking of dropping her synagogue membership. He reached out to her.by phone,.encouraged her to remain a.member.and.allowed her to.pay whatever she could.afford. This was but one of his long list.of acts.of loving...

It has been a long time since I have been back to New York. My favorite memory of Cantor Smolover was singing the song he wrote about Rainbows (back in the 70's) at JCC. I really wish I could remember it. I send my deepest condolences to the family and I will always have the fondest memories of him. Suzanne Kalfus
