Dear Dad,
Today is a solemn day. Michele told me the morning of the attacks that she telephoned you to turn on your TV. At that time, you and Mom were still in the beautiful home that you and she built so many years before. What a wonderland to grow up in! I'm sure your heart was broken to see the country you served attacked so maliciously.
You are so missed and loved.
I think of you so many times each day. Your memory has not been forgotten and never will.
I love...

Happy Father's Day, Dad! I miss you today just as all other days. This is the first Father's Day I am not able to tell you I love you, but I do believe that you know it.

Dear Dad,
Yesterday marked three months since you went to a better place. I miss you so much! I miss your funny names for things, how you kept me up on current events, and doing the crossword puzzles with you! The day before yesterday, Ron, Bob and I visited your grave at Fort Snelling. We decorated it with the American flag, silk flowers that read DAD, and placed your dog tags on top of the headstone. Ron and Bob took pictures. I just want you to know how important you are and always...

I've never had a greater gift bestowed upon me than getting to know you.I will always remember and cherish spending Super Bowl Sunday watching the game with you. I: salute my comrade, applaud the father and deeply respect the man. My prayers go out to your family and I want you to know Rita will be taken care of until she, along with the rest of us, can be with you again. Love....bob

Dear Dad,
I placed a note in your sportcoat pocket--you know what it said. Because of my grief,I forgot to write one very important thing: A special thank you for taking care of our Mom. You did a wonderful job even though you were under a lot of stress for so long. Mom was in good hands with you watching over her. Dad,you will always be THE BEST!
Love you and miss you terribly,
Deb
