I know that many people describe their Dad as “a great man”, or “wonderful”; in the case of my Dad, I believe these descriptions are truly justified. He always provided well for our family. When growing up, I had no idea we were not rich! We always had everything we needed – doctor visits, dental care every six months, clothes and plenty of good food – we were blessed. I was a 'daughter-in-law' to Raymond but he never let me feel I was anyone but a 'daughter'. He never missed sending cards and calling me on my birthday. Our phone conversations were always fun and pleasant - catching up on everything happening in Michigan, Texas or Kansas. The most recent, in November, being the huge job of cleaning up the millions of fallen leaves from those huge, beautiful trees at their home. Has a child I lived in the neighborhood near Whitney’s Service. We would use they air hose to fill our bike tires, purchased candy and pop. We’d ride bikes across the hose that rang the bell announcing a customer, which probably drove them crazy when they were working on a repair job. But for all of the annoying things we did, no one ever yelled at us or told us to stay out of the place.
