Our phone conversations were always fun and pleasant - catching up on everything happening in Michigan, Texas or Kansas. Has a child I lived in the neighborhood near Whitney’s Service. We would use they air hose to fill our bike tires, purchased candy and pop. We’d ride bikes across the hose that rang the bell announcing a customer, which probably drove them crazy when they were working on a repair job. But for all of the annoying things we did, no one ever yelled at us or told us to stay out of the place.
