Baca's Funeral Chapels - Las Cruces Obituary

RAYMUNDO RAMIREZ, 71, of Anthony entered eternal life on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 8, 1952, in Anthony, Texas. Raymundo served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, retiring after 24 years of service. Raymundo was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. 


Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Bertha Tellez Ramirez; two daughters, Debra Ramirez (Raul Castro Jr.) of Arvin, California, and Cynthia Arrañaga (Mario Hostos) of San Antonio, Texas; 7 grand-daughters and 1 great-grandson. Raymundo was preceded in death by his father, Natividad Ramirez, and mother-in-law, Margarita Tellez. 


Visitation will begin at 6 PM Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 324 Lincoln Street in Anthony with the Prayer Vigil at 7 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in the same church. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Anthony Community Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the family plot. Military Honors will be accorded by the United State Marine Corps Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League El-Perro Diablo Detachment.


Serving as casket bearers will be Derek Montecinos, Vince Tellez, Larry and Larry Jr. Tellez, Raul Castro, Alfredo Benitez, Alfredo Alvídrez. Honorary bearers are Mathew Benitez and Keagan Salinas.
