SereniCare -- Draper - Draper Obituary

Rebecca Dawn Barney, beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend passed away Friday June 24, 2011.

She was born on Sept. 8, 1973 to James Wm. Jenson III and Sandra K. Tipton.

On Feb. 22, 2008, Rebecca married her eternal sweetheart Douglas Andrew (Andy) Barney
in the Salt Lake Temple.
Blending two families, her own cherished daughters Kaytlyn, MacKenzie, and McKayla joined Andy's children Drew, Dakota, Damion and Chalissa.

Rebecca was a faithful member of the LDS Church. Attending the temple brought her great joy and peace; and she went often.
Rebecca was vibrant, fun, smart, loyal, and had a wonderful childlike laugh.
Rebecca inspired us all with her courage and determination through several years of serious health problems. She relied on those she loved and on her deep faith to carry her.

Rebecca is survived by her husband, children, parents, brothers: Jim (Kerrie), Steve (Mindi), Dave (Tina) and Jeff (Steph), many beloved nieces and nephews, large extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Grandma Jenson, Her "Nanny" Tipton, and a baby nephew.
Though it's painful to be without her, as her family, we are so grateful to know that this separation is only temporary.
We express our heartfelt thanks to the amazing, compassionate staff at Bountiful's Lakeview Hospital.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 27 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There will also be a viewing on Tuesday, June 28 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am. The viewings and funeral service will be

Not sure what to say?

Andy, Sorry to hear about Rebecca. I have no words to say at this time of the loss you are going through. My prayers are with you and your family. May GOD the almighty give you strength to overcome the loss of Rebecca.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss. I wish I could gather the right words to make your pain less and offer you some comfort. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family through this heartbreaking time.

Andy, I am so very sorry, I know she has had incredibly serious health problems in the past and you have been a God send supporting her every minute of her battle. God Bless you Andy. Grace and I will be praying for you and your family. Barry & Grace Harris

Sandy and family; I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I got to know the kind and gentle spirit of Rebecca as she cared for my dearest friend and her 'Nanny' Wanda. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Love Dona Rae

Rebecca has an amazing spirit and infectious laugh that I will never forget. We will miss her in this life but look forward to seeing her again someday. She's making them laugh in Heaven right now. Sorry we couldn't be there this week, our prayers are with all of you.

I will cherish the memories I have of Rebecca growing up in Woodinville. My prayers go out to the Jenson family, The Barney family, and all who loved her. Thanks for treating me like a friend and not one of your little brothers annoying friends. May you rest in peace.

Sweetheart I love you so very much. I am going to miss holding my best friend close to me and making her feel that everything is safe. I cannot wait to look into those beautiful blue eyes when we meet again and see inside your soul as I have many times before.

Enjoy the freedom from your pains in your new home. I will do my very best to be able to be with you for our agreed upon Forever and Three Days.

Baby girl. I am so happy for you and your loved ones who get to be...

Our thoughts are with the Jenson and Barney families during this difficult time.
