Gilbertson Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Stanwood Obituary

Rebecca Gertrude Therese (Bingell) Marti, age 86, died August 28, 2023. Becky was born November 18th, 1936, to Charles and Frances Bingell in Ogallala, Ne. After relocating to Seattle, she was raised primarily in the Green Lake area and attended St. John’s Parish School and was a proud 1955 graduate of Holy Names Academy, where she learned to love her faith and the nuns who taught her. She married Alfred “Rusty” Marti at St. John the Evangelist parish in Seattle on October 19th, 1968. They made their home in Warm Beach where they raised two sons, Christopher and Joseph. Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Rusty, brother Ted, her parents, nephew Jeffrey Kissler, and granddaughter Lillian Rebecca Marti.

She is survived by beloved sons Christopher and Joseph, daughter-in-law Katie, five granddaughters (Anna, Grace, Julia, Elizabeth, and Jane), loving sister and loyal champion, Judy, steadfast and patient brother-in-law, Ron, brother-in-law Rev. Thomas Marti, M.M., sister-in-law Anne Marti, nieces Shelly Johnson, Reneé Graham, Amy Bingell and many, many cousins and friends new and old. She was a woman who loved much, laughed much, and endured much, who loved God and her family and wanted most of all for them to stay close, love one another, and forgive one another.

A viewing will take place at Gilbertson Funeral Home Thursday, September 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Rosary starting at 3:00 p.m. Rite of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church the following day on Friday, September 8th at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Burial to take place at a later time and date.

Please pray for the repose of her soul. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

Not sure what to say?

I had the great fortune to meet Becki when we both worked for Snohomish County. She was a true gem - kind, thoughtful and ethical, with a wonderful sense of humor. Becki, you will be missed!
