Not sure what to say?

Rector was some eccentric; but he was kind, a solid friend, a pretty good mimic, and, therefore, an effective story teller. He must have spend most all of his days figuring out how he could apply his broad sense of humor to lighten the day of others. He had your back.

I lived in an apartment complex which Rector also lived in around 1979 or 1980. He was a great guy and had I been less shy, I might have known he was Scotish and he played bagpipes. Probably playing them in heaven right now. RIP!

Rector and I connected years ago when he was on the Dallas police and fire pension board. He quickly became a friend. There was no one on earth that was more genuine and kind. I´ll never forget my first RC and peanuts on his tailgate. Subsequent interactions restored my faith in humanity. Rector was a beauty. Kathleen, Travis, I am so sorry for your loss. If I can live to be half the human your father was, I will consider myself an amazing and blessed person. Learning of your father´s...

When I first joined Dallas SWAT, Rector was my assistant squad leader. He was caring, professional, and a heck of a storyteller. As a SWAT rookie, he made sure I didn't screw up too badly. I still recall some of the stories he told-a good man. His passing leaves me sad, but I am thankful that I could work with him and get to know him. RIP Rector!

I was lucky to have known Rector very good man. I worked we worked on the Tactical team

Prayers and condolences to the family of Rector. I met Rector in the Dallas Police Academy and he was a very nice person to know. We were in Class 160. Rector left time and went into eternity to be with his heavenly savior. Imagine Rector walking down streets paved with gold, while living in eternal paradise. No more sickness, heartache nor pain. He will be missed by everyone.

Rector was a character. He was close with my big brother, Patrick. He was cool, funny and kind. Rector will definitely be missed. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Rector was a good friend and will always hear him greeting me as "Cookie Babe".
