BURNS--Red. The entire Sexton family mourns the loss of our brilliant friend and neighbor, Red Burns. We admired her for her genius and vision and achievements, but loved her for her unique brand of self-confidence, humor, and sass. She lit up the world; we live now in a dimmer, colder place. We...

Not sure what to say?

Eternally grateful. Rest well, Red.

Innovator and way ahead of her time, Red will always be remembered for her vision in the field. I will always remember her also for her kindness and generosity to students from all over the world. Thank you Red for your great influence on my life and the life of all that came through ITP. God's speed.

So many years of kinship, intelligence and humor that will be sorely missed by a fellow laborer in the fields. The world fabric is rent and we are all poorer for your loss. Farewell, my old friend.

Wonderful and inspiring force in the ITP and for taking the initiative and living life her way.

Red the one and only! Igniting our world, demanding us first to do and then to be the best we could be. The strongest guiding force I want to honour and a force I will endeavour to model for always! We learnt so much from you all at critical times, now is the biggest test and love.

Red burned a trail of innovation, greatness, fearlessness, insousiance, and incandescent vision. She not only spoke the truth as she saw it (which often proved to be the truth as we all later came to see it), she made those truths into actualities. At one level -- her brilliant lived presence -- she will be missed; at another level, through ITP -- past, present, and future -- she will not be missed because she will always be among us.

Amazing visionary, fount of ideas, and always one step ahead of the thing you thought you'd just thought of

Love rings eternal. Thank you Red Burns for all you've done for so many people.

Red's vision, candor, courage, humor, insight, brilliance, toughness, and kindness shaped technology/media/design, communities around the world, and especially NYC, and so many of us. To know her was to be inspired and transformed. To know her was to love her. In our hearts forever. Much love to her children and grandchildren. Rest in peace.
