Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 19, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Reese Garrett Hebert, 22, who passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 9:45 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday.
Rev. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Bergeron Oak Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Reese was an Industrial Electrician for MMR. He loved life and had a heart of gold. Reese enjoyed being on the water, fishing, hanging out with friends, playing with his nieces and nephew, and riding motorcycles. He lived life to its fullest and had a great sense of humor. Living up to his character of always helping others, Reese died a hero trying to save his friend, Timothy, while they were out fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his father, William "Bill" Hebert; mother, Bonnie Bergeron Leger and husband George, Jr.; brother, William "Heath" Hebert, II; sister, Brandi Michelle Peltier and husband Al Fournier; nieces, Tristin Fournier and Aniya Peltier; nephew, Ayden Fournier; aunt, Gail Guidry and husband Melvin; uncles, Mark Hebert and Jude Hebert; nanny, Hope Hebert McGee and husband Josh; and grandfather, Antoine Hebert.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Geraldine Huval Hebert, Wilbert Bergeron, and Earline Broussard Bergeron; aunt, Kimberly Hebert Periou; uncle, Ray Bergeron; and cousin, Joey Ray Bergeron.
Pallbearers will be Heath Hebert II, Al Fournier, Gavin McGee, Dylan Latiolais, Jordan Gautreau, and Cole Begnaud.
Honorary pallbearer will be Kenneth Delahoussaye.

I pray that somehow you all can find the strength to get through this sad time.
Reese was such a sweet young man with a big heart.
Although his time here was short, it was lived and he was loved. We will all miss Reese and his pretty blue eyes.
