Grier Funeral Service, Inc. - Charlotte Obituary

Reginald B. Giles, Sr., 70 of Harrisburg, NC, departed this life on Sunday, March 27, 2022. Reggie was born and raised in Washington, DC to Florence Giles-Johnson and Edward Giles, Sr. on November 12, 1951.  He received his formal education from DC public schools.

At an early age Reggie was employed by Windows Supreme as a window maker and National Produce as a truck driver.  Reggie was a dreamer and always dreamt of owning his own business.  That dream became a reality in 1980 when Reggie's Hubcaps was born.

Reggie was united in holy matrimony to his Kenilworth sweetheart Debra Pollard Giles of 49 years..  This union was blessed with seven children whom he loved dearly.

Reggie was best known for his exceptional carpentry skills as well as being a Wheaton, MD legend for his hubcap business.  Reggie had many hobbies, which includes, but not limited to playing spades, bid whist, fishing, and skating and you best believe he thought he was the master of them all.  Reggie was very personable with a vibrant personality and hearty laugh that made people gravitate to him.  One thing about Reggie was he never met a stranger.

Reggie was a true giver in every sense of the word and never wanted to see anyone without life's necessities.  In 2007 when Reggie decided to finally retire Reggie's Hubcaps and relocated to Charlotte, NC, he founded A.S.K. (Ask Seek and Knock) Outreach, which was a food and clothing ministry.

His beautiful life will forever be cherished by his wife Debra Giles and in the lives of his children: Alfred Giles, Regina Giles-Rice (Aaron), Reginald Giles, Jr., Lavonnie Giles, Rochelle Giles-Williams (Jimmy), Deborah Giles-Jackson (Brian), Christina Giles, and Von Galery (honorary son); thirteen grandchildren: Che'Von, Alexa, Reginald III (Trey), Talaya (Tweety), Avery, A'nya, Shannon, Tahirah (Shorty), Aliza, Emery, Asiyah (Pretty Pretty), Jaseenah (Gorgeous) Genesis; four great grandchildren: Kiyondrea, Kiana, Yasmilah and Aulani; siblings, Edward Giles, Jr., Brian Giles, Dana Head, Yolanda Giles; brother-in-law: Robert Head, Sr., and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
