Darlington Mortuary Obituary

Bristol – Reginald N. Lemire, 84, passed away Sunday September 23, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was the former husband and lifetime companion of Olivia (Abreu) Lemire. Born in Hartford, CT he was the son of the late Horace and Marie (Caron) Lemire. He was a resident of Pawtucket for fifty years before moving to Bristol. He served as an Artillery Instructor for the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed for eight years at the former Miller Electric Company of Woonsocket from 1957 to 1965 before becoming employed at Triangle Wire and Cable of Pawtucket as a machinist for thirty years, retiring in 1996. Mr. Lemire was a past Commander and life member of AMVETS Post 33, a member of the Dusza Almeida VFW Post 2339, and the D.A.V. He was a longtime member of the Leon Mathieu Center of Pawtucket and the LeFoyer Club. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially water sports, card playing, movies, animals, the Patriots, and was always there to lend a helping hand. Besides his former wife and lifetime companion, he is survived by one daughter Angela Mary Lemire, one son David Reginald Lemire, two granddaughters, Ashley Lemire and Sabrina Laramee, two sisters, Jacklyn Boucher of Florida and Anita Laliberte of Alabama, several nieces and nephews, and his granddog Cleo. He was the brother of the late Ronald and Leonard Lemire. His funeral will be held Monday October 1, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. in the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Teresa's Church 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling Hours will be held Sunday September 30, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Rhode Island Veterans Home Att: Furnishing Fund, 480 Metacom Avenue Bristol R.I. 02809 would be greatly appreciated.
